Le Flamenco Lyrics
English
Who the first can sing
The accord of Liberty
Who will sing the flamenco
In a Spain without Franco
This day will be celebrated
And I would like to be there
To listen to flamenco
The wind of history turns
Near the Mediterranean
The wind of history turns
Luthier prepares for tomorrow
A guitar of your hands
She will play flamenco
In a Spain without Franco
Take the chairs out of the cafes
Let all the trees shine
Dancing the flamenco
The wind of history turns
Near the Mediterranean
The wind of history turns
Picasso will be invited
Casal will be resurrected
There will be Federico
And all those who died too soon
There will be a party that day.
And I would like to be there
To listen to flamenco
The wind of history turns
Near the Mediterranean
The wind of history turns
Near the Mediterranean

Jose Pisa was born in Gironde in 1953 to a family of Andalusian Gypsies. At the age of nine, while his family was in Buenos Aires, he started playing the guitar. His musical arrangements lead his father to entrust him to the flamenco guitarist, Pepe Monreal.
At the age of eleven, he gave his first recital at the Avenida Theater in Buenos Aires. At twelve, in New York, he is a pupil of Sabicas. At thirteen, he returned to France with his parents. Then his father sends him to Spain, where he plays notably in Madrid with Serranito, Paco de Lucía,

In 2017, he accompanied Anne Etchegoyen during his concert at Olympia with his son Jonathan Pisa, also a flamenco guitarist, and called in his region “the prince of the new gypsy music”.
