The innovative engineers of “The Fun Theory” have installed an interactive playful musical stairway into the Odenplan underground station of Stockholm, Sweden. The result is 60% more people than normal chose the “piano stairs” over the escalator.
“‘Take the stairs instead of the escalator or elevator and feel better’ is something we often hear or read in the Sunday papers. Few people actually follow that advice. Can we get more people to take the stairs over the escalator by making it fun to do?”
“We believe that the easiest way to change people’s behaviour for the better is by making it fun to do. We call it The fun theory.” — thefuntheory.com
“The fun theory” is a Wolkswagen initiative, whose main objective and mission is to “change people’s behaviour for the better by making it fun to do.”
