Spanish tenor José Carreras sings “Una Furtiva Lagrima” (A furtive tear), a romanza from act 2, scene 8 of the Italian opera L’elisir d’amore by Gaetano Donizetti. From the 1986 Spanish movie titled “Romanza Final”, biography of the Spanish tenor Julián Gayarre (9 January 1844 – 2 January 1890), one of the best tenors of all times. Gayarre created the role of Marcello in Donizetti’s Il Duca d’Alba and Enzo in Ponchielli’s La Gioconda.
