That’s beautiful… A little girl drops a coin in a musician’s hat, then the magic starts to happen: the orchestra starts playing an excerpt from the last movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No 9 in D minor, Op 125 in the street!
It was actually a celebration of the 130th anniversary of the founding of Banco Sabadell, the fourth-largest banking group funded by private Spanish capital.
Sabadell is the second-largest city in the comarca of the Vallès Occidental in Catalonia, Spain. 100 people from the Vallès Symphony Orchestra, the Lieder, Amics de l’Òpera, and Coral Belles Arts choirs, united to pay tribute to their city with the “Som Sabadell” campaign. They started playing Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony number 9 in the streets after a little girl gave a street musician a coin.
